Pastries With Pop 6/20
Give Pops a morning he'll talk about for years to come. This Father's Day weekend, climb aboard Pastries with Pop, grab a pastry, and settle in for some old-school charm on the rails. No ties required, just good company and a seat saved for the man of the hour.
As the train rolls out of Cedar Park and into the Texas Hill Country, you'll wind through Short Creek Canyon and cross the 300-foot South San Gabriel trestle bridge aboard beautifully restored vintage railcars from the 1930s through the 1950s, with a short stop at the historic 1912 Bertram Depot along the way.
For the grown-ups, bubbles are back. Beer, wine, and mimosas are available for purchase in the Cedar Park Car, so Mom and Dad can both enjoy the ride.
Pastries, good company, and a few hours away from the everyday. Sometimes that's all Dad really wants.

Independence Day Express 7/4
250 years of history in the making. This Fourth of July, step back in time aboard the Independence Day Express, a rolling museum carrying you through the historic Texas Hill Country in beautifully restored railcars from the 1930s through the 1950s.
During the layover at our historic 1912 Bertram Depot, take a few quiet moments at the nearby Burnet County Veterans Memorial, a fitting stop on a day dedicated to honoring the history that brought us here.
Beer, wine, and mimosas are available for purchase in the Cedar Park Car for those who'd like to toast the occasion along the way.
What better way to celebrate 250 years of history than aboard a living museum? Ride the Independence Day Express and experience railroading history firsthand.
Hill Country Flyer- Returns September!
Step aboard the Hill Country Flyer, our signature excursion and a cherished tradition for families, friends, and neighbors across Central Texas! This full-day adventure invites you to experience railroading the way it used to be, inside fully restored vintage railcars that have been carefully preserved by the Austin Steam Train Association and its dedicated volunteers.
Guests are invited to walk through the train, enjoy refreshments and souvenirs from the concession car, and appreciate the details that bring this rolling museum to life. A two-hour layover in Burnet offers time to explore the historic town square, share lunch, or visit Wedding Oak Winery before reboarding for the afternoon ride home.
As the locomotive eases the train back toward Cedar Park, you’ll find yourself settling into that familiar rhythm—the sound of the rails, the shared conversations, and the feeling of being part of something special.
The Hill Country Flyer turns a simple day trip into a memory worth keeping.
