The Austin Steam Train Association is thrilled to join forces with two esteemed icons of the Austin board game community: The Dragon’s Lair and Steve Jackson Games! Experience a unique adventure aboard our vintage lounge cars, where The Dragon’s Lair will present a curated collection of train themed board games for our passengers to indulge in. From quick card games perfect for a brief interlude to multi-round epics that can span the entire journey, there's something for every gamer. Elevate your game night experience by paying a visit to the Cedar Park Car, where a selection of snacks and booze will be available for purchase. Join us for an unforgettable fusion of locomotive nostalgia and gaming delight!
Hill Country Flyer-Most Saturdays!
Riding on a historic train is a unique experience. Where else can you ride in a living museum? Our signature ride, the Hill Country Flyer allows you time to explore our vintage train cars, historically restored for your enjoyment! On board the train, you will wind through the Texas Hill Country, crossing the trestle bridge over the South San Gabriel River and Short Creek Canyon. During your two hour layover in Burnet you can enjoy lunch on your own, shopping, and a leisurely stroll around the historic town square. Finally, relax and enjoy time with your friends and family...as the train returns to our Cedar Park Depot in the afternoon.
Wine Train- April 21
Savor the experience aboard the Wine Train as we journey to Wedding Oak Winery nestled in Burnet, Texas. Passengers will enjoy a 2-hour train ride from Cedar Park spanning the South San Gabriel River while enjoying an intimate talk and wine tasting with members of the Wedding Oak family. In Burnet, food and wine are available for purchase during our 2-hour layover at the stunning tasting room at Wedding Oak Winery. Complete with two-story views, a patio, and a rooftop terrace, Wedding Oak has made its home in the historic 1888 Badger Building, in the heart of Burnet's town square. Finally, please relax and enjoy the ride as the train returns to our Cedar Park Depot in the afternoon.
