Special Burnet Flyer Train Weekend

For one weekend only, August 9th and 10th, the Austin Steam Train Association will be operating special service from Bertram to Burnet roundtrip to thank our many Hill Country fans for their exceptional support!

On Saturday, August 9th, the Burnet Flyer departs from Bertram at 10:30am and arrives in Burnet at 11:15. Passengers are welcome to enjoy lunch at their favorite dining establishment or bring a picnic. The train departs Burnet at 1:00pm and returns to Bertram at 1:45pm.

On Sunday, August 10th, the Burnet Flyer departs from Bertam at 2:30pm, runs to Burnet and then immediately makes the exciting return climb up the steep 2% grade back to Bertram. There is no stopover and passengers remain onboard for the full trip. The Sunday train returns to Bertram at 4:30pm.

Coach tickets for adults $15, children and seniors $10.

Excursion tickets for adults $20, children and seniors $15.

Lounge tickets for adults $25, children and seniors $20.

ASTA Celebrates Museum Day September 13th

The Austin Steam Train Association is excited to take part in the Austin area Museum Day one day early on Saturday, September 13th, with a free tour of historic railroad cars and equipment at our Cedar Park train station from 2pm-7pm.

Tours will include our 1929 vintage passenger cars, 1949 coach cars, and first class Pullman lounge cars built in 1950. Visitors can also climb inside the cab of the 1960 Alco Engine and learn how the engine works!

Visitors are welcome to explore the cars at their own pace, with tour guides in each car pointing out the amenities of the hey-day of railroading.

No reservations necessary. The railroad gift shop will be open for visitors to purchase souvenirs.
