History that Moves You

Ride the Hill Country Flyer on Saturdays

On most Saturdays in November we return to Burnet with our very popular 10:00am Hill Country Flyer train ride. Enjoy the leisurely two hour ride through the Hill Country to Burnet, a relaxed layover for a picnic or lunch at a restaurant of your choice, and then a tranquil return to Cedar Park aboard Central Texas' premier vintage railroad.

Ride the Bertram Flyer on Sundays

On most Sundays the Bertram Flyer train departs for a three hour roundtrip excursion into the Texas Hill Country. The train makes a brief stop in the little town of Bertram to explore the 1912 train depot.

Sunday's train departs 2pm and returns at 5pm.

It's a great family adventure. Come join us!

For reservations or to speak to an agent, call (512) 477-8468.

Our historic railroad operates vintage passenger cars pulled by our 1960 diesel Alco Engine while our 1916 steam engine is restored.

The trains are operated by the dedicated staff and volunteer crews of the Austin Steam Train Association, a community-based non-profit 501(c)3 organization.

The lounge cars have a combination of seating options, either in the open lounge area (tables and chairs or individual chairs) or in a private compartment. Private compartments must be booked through a ticket agent at 512/477-8468. The lounge cars have A/C, heat, and complimentary light snacks.
